Sri Sumukhi Rajasekharan Memorial Foundation celebrated its tenth anniversary and its annual Kala Poshakam on Sunday, February 10 at Narada Gana Sabha and on this occasion, the Mylapore Trio (S. Amarnath, S. Surendranath, S. Aparna) honoured R. Krishnaswami, secretary, Narada Gana Sabha, Chennai) with the title of “Bheeshma Pithamaha”
The Natya Acharya Ratna title was conferred on dancer Deepak Mazumdar, and the Gana Guru Kamalam on Saroja Balasubramaniam, for her commendable talents as Carnatic musician and teacher.
The days programme started with the singing of the Pancharatna Kritis of Thyagaraja rendered by Sarokja and her disciples.
