Police on Thursday cracked a case of kidnapping reported from the campus of Chettinad Vidyashram some five hours after the incident took place.
A KG student who attends this R A Puram school was reported missing by his parents. The boy’s father works at Ennore Port Trust.
It is said that the boy travels by a private van. On Thursday morning, when the van driver turned up to take the boy home, he was found missing. CCTV footage from cameras placed all over the campus showed a man picking up the boy a little earlier.
The boy’s father was alerted and so were the city police. Police later said they traced the boy in north Madras but did not give any more details. It is not known if this was a case of kidnapping or personal.
