Christians will observe Palm Sunday this Sunday at local churches and mark the first day of the Holy Week that follows. On Sunday, blessed palms will be held out in simple processions to be taken out in church campuses or in their neighbourhood to commemorate Jesus’ celebrated entry into the city before he was condemned to death.
During the week, services will be held on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and on Easter Sunday, the day Jesus is believed to have risen from the dead.
The community has been observing the Lenten season the past four weeks.
