Passes to a dance-music event where internationally-known Bharatanatyam dancer Alarmel Valli pays tribute to the legendary T. Muktha, a Carnatic music guru in the guru’s centenary year have been sold out.
The Nov.9 event to be held at Sivagami Pethachi Auditorium in Alwarpet features a dance-music theme recital of padams and javalis by Alarmel Valli and Bombay Jayashri. Admission to this event is closed though the hosts say some people may be allowed if there are cancellations. The show is at 6 p.m.
On Nov.10, at this hall there will be a Kathak recital by Aditi Mangaldass. 7 p.m.
On Nov.8 at Alliance Francaise in Nungambakkam, there is talk on T. Muktha by V. Sriram, a conversation between Valli, Jayashri and poet Arundhati Subramaniam and later, a concert of Muktha’s padams and javalis by Nirmala Sundararajan and Subhashini Parthasarathy.
