Remembering music guru K. V. Narayanaswamy

 

The Sri Ariyakkudi and K. V. Narayanaswamy Memorial Trust in association with Sri Krishna Sweets in organising an event to celebrate the 92nd birthday of K. V. Narayanaswamy from Nov 14 – 16. The event will be inaugurated by Sriranga Ramanuja Maha Desikan Swamigal on Nov 14. V. R. Lakshminarayanan, former DGP, Cleveland V. V. Sundaram and M. Murali, MD of Sri Krishna Sweets are the guests of honour. A concert by H. S. Prasanth accompanied by R. Raghul (violin) and M. S. Varadan (Mridangam) will follow the inauguration ceremony. At Sivaswamy Kalalaya School, Mylapore, 4.45 p.m. onwards.

On Nov 15, a concert by T. V. Sankaranarayanan accompanied by H. N. Bhaskar (violin), A. Eswaran (mridangam) and K. V. Gopalakrishnan (Kanjira) will follow the inauguration ceremony. The chief guest is Mohan Parasaran, senior advocate, Supreme Court. V. R. Lakshminarayanan, N. Balasubramaniyan, secretary of Brahma Gana Sabha and Srikala Bharath, artistic director – Thejas are the guests of honour. At Sivaswamy Kalalaya School, Mylapore, 5 p.m. onwards.

On Nov 16, the event starts off with a concert by Arsha Booshna and Dr. K. Vageesh accompanied by Dr. Narmada (violin) and K. Ramakrishnan (mridangam). The chief guest renowned veena artist Padmavathy Anandagopalan will distribute the prizes. At BVB, Mylapore, 10.30 a.m. onwards.

On Nov 17, the chief guest is N. Murali, co – chairman of The Hindu and the guests of honour are V. R. Lakshminarayanan and P. Vasanthkumar. Highlights include a concerts by Pattabhiram Pandit and a violin duet by Lalgudi GJR Krishnan and Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi. At Sivaswamy Kalalaya School, Mylapore, 4.45 p.m. onwards.
