Rev. Brother Patrick of the Montfort Brothers congregation passed away this week and the funeral was held in Yercaud.
He managed the Montfort Community Development Society (MCDS), a NGO from his base in Sastri Nagar, Adyar and ran many community and outreach projects in the kuppams off San Thome. These projects helped women, children, the handicapped and school dropouts.
The NGO’s annual melas for elders held in Pattinapakkam and Womens Day held at San Thome School campus were high points of Bro. Patrick’s social service agenda.
He also encouraged Social Work undergrads to work on these projects in the kuppams. A keen promoter of sport, he got youths involved in outdoor activities.
