Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to attend a function tomorrow at Madras University campus. In preparation for his visit, the city traffic police are planning to enforce traffic restrictions around the Mylapore area. A trial run was conducted today, which led to traffic jams and confusion in the area.
At noontime, main roads like T. T. K. Road and C. P. Ramaswamy Road saw traffic jams or slow moving traffic. On T. T. K. Road, all the side roads leading into this main road were blocked off at the junctions, forcing users to find alternate routes. The blocks were removed at around 3 p.m.
Dr.R. K. Salai and all roads leading to the beach road, the route of the PM on friday were also choc-a-bloc with traffic this afternoon as restrictions were in force.
Motorists will be advised to avoid the Marina section till noontime on Friday.
