Using technology to serve food

viji1Vijayalakshmi Ganesh had a spark when she saw one of her friends working as a cook. ‘Why not enable her to cook at her own house, and bring customers to her?’ This idea led to ‘more milaga’ – a technology app that puts cooks in touch with customers.

The cooks in more milaga’s network work out of their own kitchens. They can inform Viji about what they are making the next day, which would be uploaded on to the app.

Customers can pick what they want from the app. They can make up their own meal, putting together a combo of their choice. The order has to be placed the previous day. Food will be delivered to them in disposable containers.

The idea has clicked off. The cooks are happy that they can indulge their passion for cooking and also reclaim the cost of the meal they are making. Customers are happy to eat good, home made food.

Right now, more milaga services the Mylapore area and for lunch only. Plans are on for expansion and also to provide home made sweets and savories during festival season.
