Scholars honoured, at Sanskrit College

Sanskrit day - sanskrit college‘Sanskrit Day’ – an event held to honour the recipients of this year’s ‘Certificate of Honour’ for Sanskrit received from the President of India, was held at Sanskrit College premises at R. H. Road, Mylapore on Sep 12. The event started off with a vedic prayer by the students of Sanskrit College followed by a welcome address by the president of K. S. R. Institute –  T. S. Krishnamurthy.

Later, scholars A. Haridas Bhat, Prof. G. Mahabaleshwara Bhat, Gullapalli Venkatanarayana Ghanapathi and Dr. Deviprasad Mishra were honoured by the chief guest – Nirmala Sitaraman, minister of commerce and industry, Govt. Of India. The event ended with the vote of thanks by the secretary of V. K. Iyer Trust – V. Srikantha and a Samskrita Mangalam by the students.
