Court quashes detention of five men held under Goondas Act; they were accused of cutting sacred thread

Madras High Court has quashed the order detaining five men under the Goondas Act who are accused of cutting the sacred thread of three people in three places in the city including a Mylapore colony – their target included a priest of a local temple.

The youths were arrested on April 22.
