Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha’s 115th festival in December was launched on Sunday evening.
Music guru P S Narayanaswamy, Radha Vishwanathan, vocalist-partner of late M S Subbulakshmi and the Priya Sisters were given awards that evening with blessings of the jeeyar of the Sriperumbudur Mutt who was the chief guest.
Vocalist Aruna Sairam was also a special guest. Others on the dais included Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti and advocate Mohan Parasaran besides sabha managers.
P S Narayanaswamy then donated the Rs.25,000 he received with the award to flood relief efforts.
The junior-senior choir led by Sudha Raja then presented a short concert. But the big one by guru T V Sankaranarayanan was the star event of the evening.
The fest is held at Vidya Bharathi hall, opp. Jammi buildings on R H Road, Mylapore.
