More than a thousand people gathered at Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple tank, Mylapore today morning (Sep 30) to offer oblations to their ancestors on the occasion of Mahalaya Amavasya.
All the gates of the temple tank were opened to enable the people, who started coming in as early as 5 a.m., to perform their rituals. Priests were seen instructing the people performing their rites.
