Oothukadu Venkatakavi Academy Trust has organised a music and dance festival, to commemorate the 316th birth anniversary of Mahakavi Oothukadu Venkatakavi, till Oct 15 at Sir Sivaswami Kalalaya Senior Secondary School, Mylapore. Vocal concerts and discourses have been organised at the school’s auditorium in the evening.
As a part of this festival, music competitions (vocal and flute) on Venkatakavi’s compositions will be held for children aged 8 – 17 years on Oct 16 at Kalyana Nagar Association, Mandavelipakkam.
