Panguni fest: police officer seeks suggestions on people management

Deputy Commissioner of Police V. Balakrishnan is open to suggestions from Mylaporeans on how the law and order management and crowd management can be improved for the annual Panguni festival of Sri Kapali Temple, Mylapore which starts in early April.

The police have their standard operating procedures for such events but the DCP who likes to welcome ideas and support from people has posted this invite on his popular Facebook page.

People have already posted a few dozen ideas including suggesting that MTC divert buses from the temple zone on all days of the fest and that volunteers ask women to put away their gold jewellery and others seeking a special queue for seniors to access the temple and watch the processions.
