Blood donation camp held at local church to celebrate Good Friday

For the past 10 years, The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, San Thome has been doing something unique to celebrate Good Friday. A blood donation camp was held on April 14 in association with Madras Voluntary Blood Bureau and Gosha Hospital at the San Thome Church campus. More than 200 donors attended this camp and donated their blood.

The society has received awards in the past for this service. Last year, we donated more than 500 units to the Bureau, says Benita, a member.

Good Friday, a festival observed during the Holy week preceding Easter Sunday, commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary.
