NGO Thuvakkam to repaint the walls at Kutchery Road this weekend

A couple of months ago, a team of youngsters from NGO Thuvakkam had painted the walls at Kutchery Road, Mylapore. Very soon, posters of an AIADMK public meeting were splashed on the painting. The team, who had spent more than 10 hours to clean and paint it, were very disappointed.

Krishna Kumar, one of the founders of the group, says, “We plan to repaint the wall this Saturday evening (May 13) and we have roped in a few residents to help us too. We have received the approval of Chennai Corporation officials and the deputy commissioner of Police V. Balakrishnan”.

The group also plans to include a small note stating that an FIR will be filed if the wall is defaced again. “All public walls, excluding schools and libraries, will have this note henceforth”, says Krishna.
