A. Boothalingam passed away on July 16. He was the trustee of the Ramana Kendra at Mylapore, which was founded by his father B. Ananthaswami.
He introduced a whole series of young talented vocalists and instrumentalists to audiences at Ramana Maharishi shrine at Alamelumangapuram. Several senior artistes like Malladi Brothers, T. M. Krishna, Ranjani & Gayatri have performed there in the past.
Boothalingam was also one of the organisers of the classical dance recitals for the annual Vasant Utsav at Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple. He is survived by two sons, brothers and sisters.
