Reckless driver booked for speeding on Kamarajar Salai

Panic gripped motorists on Kamarajar Salai on Monday afternoon after a speeding Lamborghini narrowly missed hitting two policewomen on a two-wheeler.

According to the police, K. Ramesh, 36, a resident of Nattu Muthu Kumarappa Street, Mylapore who was driving the car turned into Marina Beach Road at the signal near DGP’s office when he stepped on the accelerator and narrowly missed the two policewomen who were going towards Napier’s Bridge.

They immediately alerted the traffic policemen nearby with the registration number. The police finally managed to nab him near Ezhilagam.

Ramesh, who was not drunk, was booked for rash and negligent driving. The car was towed and handed over to the owner, who is a film financier, later in the evening after a fine was imposed
