Lagna patrikai event for Panguni fest held at Sri Kapali Temple

The traditional and symbolic ritual that formally launches the annual Panguni festival celebrations at Sri Kapali Temple, Mylapore – the reading of the lagna patrikai – was held on Sunday evening, Feb. 25.
A large number of  people gathered around the dwajasthambam in the western side of the temple and took part in the religious ceremony that lasted for about an hour.
The schedule ( highlights mentioned here) for the 2018 Panguni festival at Sri Kapali Temple is as follows:
March 22 – Flag hoisting (kodiyetram) in the morning
March 24 – Adikara Nandi
March 26 – Silver Rishaba Vahanam
March 28 – Thiruther
March 29 – Arubathimoovar procession
March 30 – Pikshadanar Vizha
March 31 – Thirukalyanam
