The Madras High Court last week denied anticipatory bail to actor-politician S.Ve. Shekher. Shekher had gone to court seeking relief after he was criticised roundly for having shared a Facebook post which was sent to him from elsewhere which contained derogatory remarks about women journalists.
The court’s judge said that a message forwarded on social media amounted to accepting and endorsing it. The judge was critical of Shekher’s actions.
