Sudha Ragunathan, Carnatic music vocalist and founder and managing trustee of Samudhaaya Foundation, and a senior disciple of Dr. M. L. Vasanthakumari is conducting
MLV 90 on her guru’s 90th birth anniversary.

The event is on July 3, 4 p. m. onwards at The Music Academy and is open to all.
Nirmala Sitharaman, union minister for defence is the chief guest.
The evening commences with concerts by the senior disciples of M. L. Vasanthakumari –
vocal by Trichur Ramachandran, Charumathi Ramachandran,
Shubashree Ramachandran, Shuba Ganesan, Jayanthi Sridharan and Kowsalya, violin by A. Kanyakumari and her sishya Embar Kannan. Child prodigy Rahul Vellal will also be
performing as a reflection of MLV’s gesture of always promoting young talent.
Nirmala Sitharaman will be receiving the MLV90 postage stamp that is being released by the
Dept. of Posts. The MLV90 souvenir will also be released.
Screening of a short audio visual on MLV followed by ‘Samadrishti’, a performance with
music by Sudha Ragunathan and dance by Rama Vaidyanathan will follow.
Samudhaaya Foundation will make a donation to Soulfree, (an organisation for the positively abled). Samudhaaya is at ‘Vasantham’, 18/3, Cenotaph First Street, Alwarpet, Chennai.
