On Jan 13, the guru poojai vizha for Vayilar Nayanar (one among the 63 Nayanars who has taken avatharam in Mylapore) will be held at Sri Kapali Temple.
The pooja will start with abhisekham at this nayanar’s sannidhi early in the morning. In the evening, at 7 pm, the nayanar will be taken out in a pushpa palakku in a procession through the mada streets.
