Due to a fire that occurred at Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) telephone exchange office in Mannady on August 1, (Thursday) morning, e-Seva services at Mylapore have been disrupted. On August 2, the staff at the e-Seva centre in Kamarajar Salai, R.A.Puram was seen informing the same to the customers who approached the centre for availing the services.

“Since our server works with the service provided by the BSNL, after the fire at the BSNL office in Mannady, all our services have become completely shut. Also, the e-Seva services across Tamil Nadu are not operational, for the time being,” she says.

However, it is not known when the services would become operational again.”We are told that it will take at least a week’s time for the server to start functioning. But we haven’t received any official confirmation on this,” she says.

Already, the people approaching the centre were getting delayed as the server at the e-Seva centres have been slow all the time. Now, the staff say, the services becoming completely non-operational have made them more frustrated.
