Schools may soon be used as a shelter, says principal of local Corporation school

Schools may soon be used as shelters to house the homeless and those waiting to leave the city.

The principal of the Chennai High School at Sringeri Mutt Road, R. A. Puram, J. Dhanammal says, “We haven’t received any information yet but we did provide shelter during the 2015 floods. I know that one corporation school in Egmore is being used as a shelter right now, I am not sure about other schools. The minute we receive a confirmation, we will start making the arrangements to accommodate the residents in this area”.
