NGO recognised for its service in city hospitals during pandemic time

Mylapore-based Viswajayam Foundation, a social welfare and community organisation has been decorated with the Covid Frontline Warrior recognition recently for its immense services rendered during the height of the pandemic.

This certificate of recognition was given by the director and professor of Institute of Child Health Dr S. Elilarasi.

The volunteer team arranged for food distribution at the Govt. Royapettah Hospital ( where the NGO has focussed much of its social work) and at Institute of Child Health & Institute of Obstetrics & Gynaecology.

The key volunteers were – Anand Raj (Raju), Naveen Kumar Sathya, P K Satapathy, Gajendran, Alla Bhagesh, Ravi Sankaran, Bhama
and Ramakrishnan Chandrashekaran.

Sekar Viswanathan, founder and managing trustee of Viswajayam says, “We delivered more than one lakh meals and spent 5000 hours volunteering all told. I have spent  1200 hours as volunteer last year.”
