Madras Day / Chennai Dinam was celebrated by children who reside in the seaside colonies off the Marina Beach last weekend when they took part in an art contest held on the sands of Pattinapakkam.
A band of young people of this area headed by Deepa and Kavitha put this event together on August 21 evening. Over 50 school children took part.
‘My Marina’ was the theme for this on-the-spot contest and the children used crayons to express themselves.
Ten children whose works were chosen as the best were given gifts.
