TN governor to release illustrated book on Madras on Aug.19

The latest book on Madras that is Chennai, titled  ‘Madras Inked … Impressions of an artist and an architect’ by awarded artist Manohar Devadoss and senior architect Sujatha Shankar will be released on August 19 evening ( 6 p.m.).

The governor of Tamil Nadu is the chief guest and this event, to be held at the C. P. Art Centre, Alwarpet is open only to guests with invitations.

The coffee-table book has some 50 unique Indian ink illustrations by Manohar, all of Madras drawn over the past 50 years. Sujatha has jotted down her notes on these places and landmarks, with the focus on the architecture of each place.

The book costs Rs.2500 and is on sale from Aug.20 at Shakuntala Art Gallery in the C. P. Art Centre campus, Eldams Road. It will soon be on sale online and also at Higginbothams store.

A special launch offer of Rs.2200 is on from August 20.
