Civic workers clearing drains of muck; preparing for monsoon

If you see lots of used bags stuffed with muck and left on the pavement, then this is a sign that the local drains have been desilted and that they can now carry water when the. monsoon strikes and flooding may just not happen.

For the past week, civic workers are at work in many Mylapore areas, clearing drains of sludge and waste to let them be clear and deep to carry rainwater.

On Friday, a team was seen working in the Dr. Ranga Road zone.  Earlier, workers were at the job alongside MGR Janaki College in R A Puram.

If you feel that the drains in your colony have not been cleared, alert the local unit civic officials now.
