Civic body allows access to Christian cemeteries on All Souls Day. No rush though.

Chennai Corporation allowed people to visit graveyards on All Souls Day, the day they pray for the departed, after the civic body had told priests that access must not be made to cemeteries on Nov.2 the past week.

This news spread and families were seen at the graveyards on St Mary’s Road and at Quibble Island on a wet Tuesday morning and later too.

The crowd was not big at both places, with people visiting through the weekeend and will do so through this week too.

At  both cemeteries, priests said prayers and blessed all the graves, some of which were decorated with flowers by people.
