The rains gave way in the second half of the day, Thursday Nov.11, allowing some fifty devotees to attend the Thiru Kalyanam of Singaravelar at the Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple.
As the clock ticked past 8pm, more devotees gathered in for the culmination of the maha Kanda Shasti utsavam that began last Thursday.
Nagaswaram artistes were provided a special platform near the Vayilar Nayanar sannidhi and they led the musical presentation leading to the Thiru Kalyanam.
Devotees sat all along the path way to the Navarathri mandapam watching hereditary priest Balaji Gurukal perform the Thiru Kalyanam.
