Seafood enthusiasts remembered that markets would be closed on Sunday and so hurried and packed into their favourite shopping destination this evening – Marina Loop Road in San Thome.
Since 5 p.m. hundreds of people drove into the busy road, walked from stall to stall looking for some bargains and fresh buys and carried home fish they perhaps cannot do without at meal time.
Hawkers admitted prices were higher than usual, for obvious reasons; they will have to make up for a Sunday closure due to pandemic time regulations.
Marina Loop Road is the go-to open air fish market for hundreds of people; there is variety and when local fisherfolk put out to sea, fresh catch is on sale.
