While churches are closed and Masses cancelled, some will keep doors open for people to pray privately

For local churches, it is back to pandemic-time regulations which affect the core of religious services – the Holy Masses on Sundays when a large number of people attend this service.

As per the latest guidelines from the government, religious services will be not held on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at churches and priests heading churches here have sent word to their flock.

But some churches have decided to keep the doors open through the day. As Fr Bosco, parish priest of Our Lady of Guidance Church in R. A. Puram says, “Our church will be open to the public for personal visits. They can pray but be seated apart.”

This step has been taken because some local church-goers make it a habit to stop by either on way to work or in the evening, to drop in to pray.

Here, every Thursday, Holy Mass will be said at 6 a.m. and at 6:15 p.m. and will be observed as a Sunday Mass.
