A new gold-plated kavacham for the processional utsavam deity of Sri Venkatesa Perumal Temple at Mari Chetty Street, Mandaveli will be consecrated on Sunday (Feb. 20). A temple trustee says that a group of devotees has come forward to contribute to this gold plating.
There will be a homam and a thirumanjanam on Sunday morning followed by anointment of the utsava deity with the gold kavacham.
On Sunday evening, starting 6 p.m., there will be a special procession around the four big streets around this temple – for devotees to have darshan of the lord sporting the gold-plated kavacham.
