The Idol Wing CID of Tamil Nadu police raided a store on TTK Road, Alwarpet last weekend and seized a few antique idols and a bunch of Buddhist manuscripts, also of antique value.
The store, which sells a variety of handicrafts, jewellery, carpets and statues and collectibles is run by Kashmiris and is stands closer to the Music Academy end of TTK Road.
Police said that the shop keepers did not have valid documents to validate the record on these antique items and two men have been arrested.
