The annual ‘Vasantha Utsavam’ to cool the Lord from summer heat starts Wednesday (April 6) evening at the Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple with a Mada Streets procession of Lord Vinayaka.
From Thursday, there will be a 10 day Vasantha Utsavam for Kapaleeswarar ending with a pancha moorthy procession on Chitrai Pournami.
From April 17, Singaravelar will enjoy the Vasantha Utsavam till the auspicious Krithigai star on May 2.
The Vasantha Utsavam will see Othuvars present the sacred verses, offer the big deepaarathanai every evening and a procession will be held inside the temple on each of the days except the special days when the Lord will go out on the Mada Streets procession.
