Fathimah Eye Clinic and the community at the Jumma Masjid, Kutchery Road, Mylapore organised a free eye screening camp on Sunday ( May 29), through the morning.
Mosque activity co-ordinator Abdul Samad says some 300 people made use of this camp and that while 17 will undergo operations without paying any fees, another 70 who require spectacles will be provided with them, free.
The Clinic is in Doomingkuppam, San Thome and is run by Dr. Sheikh Hameed and Dr Adhik Sheikh. These two doctors and their team handled the camp which was open to all people.
