This academic year, the student community at Chennai High School run by GCC on Sringeri Mutt Road have student leaders.
School headmaster P. Paulraj decided that a simple election would be held to elect the leaders. So a Head Boy and a Head Girl were chosen, two others were chosen to be their assistants and leaders were chosen for Classes 6 to 10.
Paulraj says did this to enthuse the students soon after re-opening and to also give leadership roles and skills to the chosen ones.
A wellwisher donated badges to all the leaders.
This is a co-educational school but the strength is small, with many families having moved to the city outskirts.
The school is located diagonally opposite the Mandaveli MRTS station, alongside the Canal.
