Chief minister M. K. Stalin was admitted to Kauvery Hospital in Alwarpet, Thursday noontime, two days after he tested positive with the virus.
Sources said he was here for tests and observation.
A small posse of police and security men were stationed in and around the hospital.
Stalin had said he had isolated himself after testing positive.
