Hindustani music school celebrates 10th A-day

Swaraangan School for Hindustani Music, Chennai celebrated its 10th anniversary on July 16 at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. 

This school was founded by Lalita Sharma, senior disciple of Pandit Jasraj. 

Police officer Sanjay Kumar (ADGP)  was the chief guest. Artiste Shriram Parashuram was the guest of honour. Renowned  artistes T V Gopalakrishnan, Ramesh Vinayakam and Janardhan Mitta were among the audience.

The students of Swaraangan presented a thematic musical performance, “Saint Poets of India”, with musicians Kishore Kumar on sitar, Natarajan on flute, Kapilan on rhythm pads and Praveen Narayan on tabla. The evening ended with a short recital by Lalita Sharma.
