21 people send in entries for contest to make umbrella for lord Vinayaka at home

21 people have sent in their entries for a contest hosted by Mylapore Times to create an umbrella for lord Vinayaka, made from materials at home and which can be reused.

From coconut shells and dry mango leaves, to ribbons and bamboo splinters, from dry flowers and leftover cloth on the sewing machine table to even coconut husk, these people, mostly youths and women have presented simple kodais for this contest which closes on Saturday 5 pm.

Five best kodais get prizes, to be announced Monday morning. Prizes will be sent to the winners mid-week.
