Our Lady of Guidance parish in R. A. Puram celebrated Mother Mary’s feast from the 5th to the 15th of August.
The morning masses on the 15th in Tamil and English were celebrated by Rev. Fr Satish, the newly ordained a priest on the 13th of August and was assisting Parish Priest Fr. Y. F. Bosco and Asst Parish Priest Fr Lourdes Marcel since November 2021 when he was ordained as a deacon.
After the 7.30 am Mass, a CD was released with a motto which translates To bear much fruit. The CD has 6 hymns. . It is based on the gospel of Sant John chapter 15 verse 8. The lyrics have been written by J. Albert and the music composed by X. Paulraj.
A Bharatanatyam dance performance was held based on this music. The CD was released in the presence of St. Cecilia Tamil Choir. The first copy of the CD was handed over to Gabriel and Annamary, the parents of Fr. Satish. He has now been posted as the Assistant Parish Priest of Votive Shrine Parish at Kilpauk. The entire event was organised by Parish Priest Fr Y .F. Bosco.
The evening Mass commenced at 5.15 pm and was celebrated by Rev Fr Jesudoss, SDB, who is the Administrator of St. Bedes Academy at Santhome.
After the Mass, there was a blessing of the car and a statue of Mother Mary was taken out in a car procession, after which the flag was lowered, kept at the altar and adoration was held.
The annual feast culminated with the final blessing.
Said Father Bosco, “”As this year is being observed as the Year of the Family, the themes of the Masses were based on the family.”
