Medley of cultural acts on ‘Raja Raja Chola’ mark Annual Day of P. S. Senior school

Annual Day forms an integral part of a school’s activities. It is an occasion of celebration, felicitation and festivity when students present not only their wonderful performances but also receive honours for their curricular and co-curricular achievements.

P S Senior Secondary School celebrated its 46th Annual Day at Narada Gana Sabha on November 6 and 7.

The cultural programme  was based on the theme ‘Raja Raja Cholan’ conceived by school principal Dr. Revathy Parameswaran.

Dr. S. Raja Sabapathy, chairman, division of plastic surgery and director, Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore and Dr. S. Vaidhyasubramaniam, Vice chancellor, Sastra deemed University, Thanjavur graced the occasion as chief guests on Nov. 6 and 7 respectively.

The functions were presided over by P. C. Ramakrishna, chairman, P. S.Senior Secondary School and K.V.S. Gopalakrishnan, president, P.S. Educational Society. The other dignitaries present included the Board members of P. S Educational Society and the heads of the group schools.

The correspondent, P. S. Prabhakar welcomed the dignitaries, the principal presented the annual report which included the  extensive achievements of the school – both academic and co-curricular. 

The Vidya Ganapathy meritorious awards were given to teachers who had rendered invaluable service to the school. Long service awards were also given to teachers completing 15 years of service. Students who had distinguished themselves in various fields were also felicitated.

The students showcased their talents through various forms of art like music, drama and dance to bring out the achievements of Raja Raja Cholan – and this was presented as one continuous ensemble.
