Carols and fete create Christmas buzz at church in Luz

Our Lady of Light Church in Luz was abuzz with the spirit of Christmas last weekend.

On December 17 evening, it was time for carols singing  held in the open area in front of the church.  This event is held every year but was skipped for the past two years due to the pandemic.

Over 200 people from 15 (anbiyams) groups from the parish sang. The teams included the English choir, Tamil choir, Youth group, Catechism children, FMM Sisters ( nuns) from  Stella Maris College and the nuns from St. Isabel’s Hospital.

There were two chief guests for the event – Sr. Fathima Anthony from Stella Maris College and Sr. Magdalene from St Isabels Hospital. The show was co-ordinated by the parish priest, Fr G J Antonysamy.

On December 18, Family Day was celebrated here. Assistant parish priest Fr. Alex Raj said that  families came in large numbers to play games, get their kids into some action and shop at the food stalls that were put up in the church compound – breakfast and lunch was on offer.
