A new park cum playground created in Nochikuppam in San Thome was formally opened by Mylapore MLA Dha. Velu and local area councillor, Revathy on Friday morning.
Velu said that this facility has been developed under the Smart City Project.
There is a walk pathway all around the campus, a sandy space with playthings for children, a lawn section with some fancy trees planted on the lawn and street furniture that visitors can use. What sticks out sorely are the fancy trees that designers plonk in all public spaces developed by the civic body ; they look good but are not native and may not survive long.
This zone is set between the newly-built residential blocks of this kuppam and can be easily accessed by residents here.
