The consecration of the new Vahana mandapa at the Venkatesa Perumal Temple on Mari Chetty street took place on Friday morning.
All the vahana processions at the Panguni Brahmotsavam (from March 18 onwards) will start from this new mandapam.
The horse vahana has been newly done while a few other damaged vahanas have been repaired and newly painted.
The new mandapam has been built at a cost of Rs. 50 lakhs, all through contributions from devotees..
