Obit: J. Vedantha Ramanujam, chartered accountant and arts promoter

J. Vedantha Ramanujam (alias Mukundan) passed away on May 9. He was 67.
A chartered accountant by profession, Ramanujam managed JV Ramanujam and Company successfully and was well known in the Mandaveli/RA Puram neighbourhood, having lived here since the seventies.

Ramanujam did his schooling in Kalyanasundaram High School, Thanjavur, and at Raja Muthiah School, Mandaveli.

He studied in Vivekananda College in the early 70s, and went on to establish JV Ramanujam and Company, a CA firm based in R. A. Puram.

He was deeply interested in Carnatic music and also ran an organisation called Parampara to promote music and the arts. He knew established Carnatic musicians and always had kind words for young performers and aspiring musicians.

  1. Very sad to know that CA JV Ramanujam passed away on the 9th May. JVR has always been a source of inspiration for younger professionals and students.He was also keen in promoting classical music. My heartfelt condolences to his family .
