Rotary honours dancer Narthaki Nataraj

At  the Rotary Club of Madras Coromandel’s annual Charter Day celebrations held on May 13 Bharatanatyam dancer Narthaki Nataraj was conferred with the ‘For the Sake of Honour Award’  by Rotary’s past district governor S. Krishnaswamy.
On that occasion, visually challenged K.Suguna, a Thamizh language teacher at  Mahindra international School was conferred with Vocational Excellence award. This woman was selling peanut candies at Tambaram rail station prior to getting a teacher’s job at Mahindra International school.
Environmentally-conscious auto driver M. Kubendran from Kottivakkam was conferred the Social Influencer award.
G. Gopalan,  founder and managing trustee of Akshaya Trust which runs five centres for neglected senior citizens providing free food, accommodation and health care was conferred with the ‘For the sake of Honour’ award.
