Four Health and Wellness Centres launched in Mylapore zone: meant for poor seeking basic medical services locally

Mylapore zone now has at least four Health and Wellness Centres which were launched by the state government yesterday all across the state.

These are essentially medical clinics intended for the economically poor but open to the community. They are open in the morning and in the evening.

The Wellness Centres are now open in Mandaveli ( behind the Post Office campus), in R A Puram ( opposite Dharmambal GCC Park, Kamaraj Salai), in San Thome ( off Nochikuppam) and off San Thome High Road ( near Registration Office / Amman Unavagam).

Mylapore MLA Dha. Velu was at one of these centres when the chief minister, M K Stalin, launched by video-conference this facility.

Each centre now has a nurse, a doctor and an attendant, is fitted with basic medical equipment and stocks basic medicines.

It offers 12 services which include pregnancy checks, child-care, family planning, ENT and eye-check and addresses the emergency needs of injured or people suffering from cold /fever.

These centres look like one step better than the Amma Clinics which the AIADMK government launched and which did not remain active due to limited services and personnel.
