P. K. Kavenitha took charge on Monday morning (June5) as the new Jt. Commissioner and executive officer (EO) at Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple. She was previously DC and EO at Kamakshi Amman Temple, Mangadu.
Soon after assuming charge, she was presented with a big flower garland and a shawl from Madhava Perumal Temple where she had worked as DC.
Chief priest of Madhava Perumal Temple Sundara Bhattar presented the prasadam from the temple. Exec. Officer P Kolaji was present on the occasion.
Kavenitha took over charge from the outgoing EO, R Hariharan.
She had told Mylapore Times on Saturday that the office she now holds is a big responsibility and that she was looking forward to the challenges. She said that one of her aims was to retrieve temple lands.
