Three December Season festivals got underway on Friday, December 15.
One was at The Music Academy. Here, Sangita Kalanidhi designate Bombay Jayashree, was honoured. Jayashree has recovered from a serious illness and many rasikas and artistes at the event were glad to have her in their midst.

The other inauguration was that of Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha at Vidya Bharathi Hall on Bheemana Garden Street, Mylapore. A host of artistes were honoured on this occasion. The main guest was Srirangam Srimath Andavan Sri Varahara Mahadesikan swamigal. ( photo below)
The third festival that was launched was that of Narada Gana Sabha at its auditorium off TTK Road, Aklwarpet. Three artistes were honoured here – Srimushnam V. Raja Rao, Prince Rama Varma and .Thirupambaram T K S Meenakshisundaram. The chief guest was Dr V R Gowrishankar, CEO, Sri Sringeri Sharada Peetam. ( first photo)
